Zirui, you have a powerful story. Why don’t you give us some details about you, and introduce us to your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I am Zirui Gu, the founder of ONEBRIDGE, I used to be a data scientist, I worked at Siemens Healthcare from 2016 to 2019, I graduated with a PHD in Biostatistics. At Siemens I had met lots of patients who had hearing loss issues; and I learned that hearing devices are very expensive. I founded the ONEBRIDGE company, and aimed at producing high quality hearing aid/amplifiers with advanced AI algorithm at affordable prices. I hope I can help all who struggle with hearing loss with my rechargeable hearing devices.
From 2020 to 2021 my hearing devices were best sellers on Amazon USA. I then launched my own website to try to achieve a better customer experience after the sale. My team has grown to 20 employees and my wish is for my company to grow and be successful long term.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
People with hearing aids always experience feed back noise when inserting hearing aid devices; I had to address this issue when I started my first, in ear hearing aid.
Also, hearing loss varies from person to person; therefore I developed an advanced AI alorgrhythm to adjust the sound level to detect the hearing loss level of each user. This is very challenging process.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What makes you good at what you do?
I am an Amazon seller and also a Shopify store seller. I am good at big data analytics, and also AI algorithms. I have worked with top level hearing aid manufactures to continually improve our products. So far I have launched 6 different hearing aid modes.
Zirui, what’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
1. Keep learning new things, and keep feeding your brain with new knowledge.
2. Be diligent
3. Be grateful to your family and support system
4. Data is now the biggest thing for every business, my success could not have happened without proper analysis of the data. Do your research.
5. Always engage with your customers and listen to their needs and feedback whether bad or good. This is super important for improving any product line.
6. Do whatever will make the customer happy, the after sale service is vital for the hearing amplifier industry, and also any business.
Speaking of success Zirui, what does the word mean to you?
To produce a product that really improves people’s lives.
What’s next for you Zirui?
My team and I will launch a new version of hearing aids with an application that can test the hearing loss level. These hearing aids will be personalized for each person based on those test results. The price will still be affordable for each user. It will not cost thousands of dollars.
