David, it is such an honor to get to speak to you today. What you have accomplished to date is so impressive. Let’s get into it!

You have a powerful story David. Why don’t you give us some details about yourself. How did you get to where you are today?

I am a global charting songwriter, creator, artist, actor known as “David Kelly”
One half of Amerikas Addiction! We Started off in the basement in 2011 as a Music Duo. After we began picking up steam, my partner Josh branched off into philanthropy and also focused on bringing more awareness to our motivational lifestyle brand #DWYD aka #DOWHATYOUDESIRE  and also his organization #DWYDGIVES.
I’m now handling all musical duties, songwriting, producing, cover art, video treatments etc. alone. I got to where I am today by learning that what I want most, is more important than what I want now. I’ve sacrificed a lot and still continue to do so to see the success that the most high has blessed me with.

David, I am sure you success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to face along the way?

What has been challenging is learning that when hearing a lot of “No’s” within the industry, to not take it personal. It is really just business and politics like everything else in life. You can have a ton of talent but if you don’t know the right people then you may stay stagnant. Your network is your net worth. Shake hands, kiss babies, take pictures. This is all one bug campaign especially when you’re just beginning.

David, let’s talk about the work you do and What makes you good at what you do?

I create a mood and also paint a picture visually with my words and it’s never forced. I’m like a chef and the studio is my kitchen. Let me say this, all my food is organic. There is a lot of food being cooked but it is filled with GMO. It’s easy to digest; and it comes right out. I’m cooking up that food that’s gonna stick to ya ribs! Whenever you listen to my music it’s going to naturally connect with whatever you have going on in life. I have songs for every mood/situation. That is what’s so unique about the music I’m creating and why the ones who support my music show so much passion.

David, what is your best piece of advice for readers that want to achieve success in their lives?

As cliche as it may seem “DON’T QUIT” because you really only fail when you give up. If you truthfully love and enjoy doing something in life then why would you quit it? That just doesn’t make sense to me. Also, don’t get caught up in what others are doing, be your own competition. This year most of the artists I follow on Instagram posted their Spotify wrapped which is AMAZING but I did not. I instead posted a photo of me holding my official Itunes plaque that I received for Charting Globally on the iTunes Charts this year. What works for someone else, may not work for you, I stay in my own lane, and do what works for me. I love it and I hope to receive another plaque in the future. That was a big accomplishment for me. I’m still floored that it happened. I earned the plaque with no label or management; just people, power, and good music.

Speaking of success David, what does that word mean to you?

Success to me is creating a bunch of goals and/or creating a vision board, making a plan, and executing those goals, big or small! That’s my definition of success. Also doing something that makes you proud of yourself. It’s OK to give yourself a pat on the back and to be proud of your accomplishments.

What is next for you David?

My new album is on the way titled “No Advances, Just Chances”,
produced entirely by Big Jerm with additional production from RMB Justize & Ricky P of Taylor Gang. I’m also releasing the mixtape version hosted by Dj MotorMane. I also plan to incorporate new visuals. My boy K.E.’s project is next. Then a collaborative effort from K.E. and I. There are definitely big things coming! I need another plaque!
