Exclusive Interview with the Dynamic Duo of the Insurance Industry

Duane and Rocky you are both an inspiration! Why don’t you give us some details about you and introduce us to your story. How did you get to where you are today?

My name is Duane Freeman and my partner is Raphique “Rocky” Harris. I was a State Trooper for 8 years and before entering the insurance industry as a broker. Rocky has been in the insurance industry for 6 years and started with New York Life and broke a record his first month there. We met each other while in the industry. We both understood the struggles of the industry, and that there was a high failure rate among agents. We both were successful at being agents. We both knew that we wanted to help agents in the industry, because 8 out of 10 agents are frustrated with their career.

Through my time being an agent, I invested my time and money into learning how to generate leads. Rocky and I both were mentored by top producers in the industry and found out what all the other agents and ourselves were missing from being effective and consistent in the industry.

We wanted to share that knowledge, and started a Facebook group called “Insurance Marketing Bible For Agents” We gave agents a free course on lead generation the cost is anywhere between $2,000-$7,000 for a course. The group has grown to over 1,000 members in a bit over 2 months.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you both had to overcome along the way?

We both struggled with being effective and booking appointments like most agents in the industry do. We spent a lot of money on lead cost and didn’t have much guidance on how to actually do what we needed to do to get in front of clients. We wasted a lot of time because we were just doing what we were told and never getting anywhere.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What makes you both good at what you do?

Rocky and I both became effective at lead generation, prospecting clients, and mastering our presentation. We managed to both have a combined 7 figure book of business with clients just by using the skills we learned. We are not better than any agent, we just invested the time and money into ourselves to learn what we needed to know to succeed. We partnered together and started Family Group Consultants which is an agency where we assist agents on how to be self-sufficient with lead generation, getting in front of clients, and closing sales. We currently have over 300 clients across the country. We are good at what we do because we put in countless days and nights of studying and putting our training to test with real clients. Now we teach agents how to scale their business. We believe what separates us from the rest is the passion we have for our program and how much it means to us to see our clients to be successful. We treat all of our clients like family.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Every person who reads this should ask themselves why are they where they are and is there anything they can do to get to where they need to be. They have to be willing to listen to others who are successful and learn to replicate the process.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you both?

Success to Rocky and I, is whatever personal goals you have within yourself that you do whatever it takes to reach that goal.

What’s next for you Duane and Rocky?

We are providing the best training for agents and we want to continue to grow our agency by helping as many agents as possible.
